Kumamoto Citizens' Day

Organized by KKT Kumamoto Kenmin Television, the only "prefectural television station" in Japan, the large-scale event for Kumamoto residents, "Kumamoto Citizens' Day," will be held again this year in Kikuyo Town. Over the two days of Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29, 2026, various programs including stage events, hands-on activities, and gourmet food will take place across Kikuyo Suginamiki Park San-San, Kikuyo Town General Gymnasium, and the Kikuyo Town Library Hall. As a special day where citizens take center stage, this event aims to provide a time where people gather to share smiles and vitality under the themes of support and connection. Fully exploring what can uniquely be done on Citizens' Day so that participating leads to smiles, vitality, and support for the region and others, a special two days will be created. A dance contest is also scheduled, making it an event where every citizen can play a leading role and enjoy themselves.
