About this event
The "8th Mifune Jurassic Trail," held in Mifune Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a trail running competition promoting the charms of the "Home of Dinosaurs," where Japan's first carnivorous dinosaur fossil was discovered. While experiencing the rich natural environment of Yoshimuta Highlands, courses are prepared for participants ranging from beginners to experienced runners. There is a "3 km Course" that is easy for beginners and families to join, and a full-fledged "20 km Course" running through nature; with relatively few steep slopes, it is also recommended for trail running beginners. On the day of the event, a unique attraction called "Jurassic Lawn Skiing," where participants slide down the lawn in dinosaur costume suits, will also be held to liven up the venue. This event is a valuable opportunity to fully experience the nature of Mifune Town and the fascination of dinosaurs.
