The "Seiwa Bunraku Village Festival & SDGs Festa," held on Saturday, October 31, 2026 in Yamato Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, is a major event designed to promote the "Seiwa Bunraku Village." Starting in 1983 and marking several editions this year, the festival centers around a special performance of "Seiwa Bunraku Puppet Theater," an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Kumamoto Prefecture. On the day of the event, in addition to showcasing this traditional performing art, an exhibition and sales fair featuring Yamato Town's proud highland vegetables and specialty goods will be held, bustling with many visitors. Furthermore, enjoyable stage events are planned, providing an abundance of regionally distinctive entertainment. The venue spans the entire Roadside Station Seiwa Bunraku-mura area, with the market taking place on the lawn plaza. Approximately 3,000 visitors are expected, drawing attention as a festival aimed at regional revitalization and the promotion of SDGs. Market exhibitors are limited to businesses within Yamato Town, with an exhibition fee of 3,000 yen per booth. Businesses selling food and drinks will be prioritized. The event hours are scheduled from 9:30 to 16:00, with the market expected to run until 15:30.
