Celebration! Kumagawa Railroad Full-Line Resumption Commemorative Ceremony & Event

About this event

Thanks to everyone's warm support, the Kumagawa Railroad will finally resume operations across its entire line! To commemorate this, a variety of events will be held at stations along the line over the 2 days of Sunday, September 20, and Monday (public holiday), September 21, 2026. There will be plenty of fun programs, including stage events, gatherings of railway companies from across the country, food truck stalls, and dynamic operational displays of the SL Hitoyoshi steam locomotive. Around Hitoyoshi Station, there will be stage events, SL Hitoyoshi dynamic displays, food trucks, and stalls from nationwide railway companies, along with an appearance by Odakyu Electric Railway's mascot character "Mocoron." Additionally, the "Welcome Back Kumagawa Railroad! Full-Line Resumption Commemorative Platform Bar" will be held on the Hitoyoshi Station platform. Around Sagara-Tojima Station, there will be talk shows, a walking event, a market, and distributions of commemorative merchandise. Okadome-Kofuku Station will host stage events and a bazaar, while Asagiri Station will feature a station-front festival. Between Taragi Station and Taragi-Shorenji Station, a "Train vs. Human Relay Race" will take place, and Yunomae Station Rail Wing will offer a market and stage events. A special screening of the movie "Sasayaki no Kawa" (Free Admission) is also scheduled at Yunomae Station. Please take a ride on the newly running Kumagawa Railroad and visit the venues.
