About this event
This is a traditional local performing art passed down in Ninomiya, Toyokoro Town, since 1920 (Taisho 9). It is said to have begun on the occasion of the new construction of Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine and has been carefully preserved by the Ninomiya Folk Entertainment Preservation Society. Said to have been brought from Fukushima Prefecture, this heroic dance possesses an overwhelming power that captivates onlookers. Dedicated annually on September 20 within the precincts of Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine, it offers a valuable opportunity to experience the local history and culture.
