About this event

Hita was once a Tenryo (shogunate-controlled territory) where the Saigokusuji Gundai (magistrate) oversaw Kyushu. In Mamedamachi, where the atmosphere of the Edo period harmonizes with modern life, an event will be held where visitors can change into historical costumes of that era and enjoy walking around the town. In the evening, the magical companion event "Sennen Akari" (Thousand-Year Light) will take place, where the warm glow of bamboo lanterns will enchantingly illuminate the Mameda and Maruyama districts. At the Hita Tenryo Festival, you can enjoy town strolling dressed in historical costumes. At Sennen Akari, bamboo lanterns illuminate the night streetscape, creating a magical atmosphere. The combination of these two events offers a special opportunity to simultaneously experience Hita's history, culture, and beautiful night views.
