Held at the Saiki City Public Local Fishery Wholesale Market Tsurumi Market at 206-16 Oaza Jimatsuura, Tsurumi, Saiki City, the "Tsurumi Bountiful Catch Festival 2026" is a vibrant seaside festival offering fresh seafood caught in the Bungo Channel and local specialty products at prices close to wholesale harbor rates. The venue will also offer an abundance of delicious foods such as surimi (minced fish cake) tempura. Interactive corners are plentiful for visitors of all ages, including touching marine creatures at a touch pool, and taking on challenges like sea snail grabbing and live fish grabbing. The stage will present a diverse lineup of entertainment starting with the opening ceremony and mochi (rice cake) throwing, followed by calligraphy performances, taiko drumming, dance, brass band concerts, and a kayokyoku song show by guest singer Kanta Ichijo. A sightseeing boat tour around Matsuura Fishing Port is available, offering an approximately 30-minute cruise (fee required) around Yashima and Takegashima. With numerous stalls by local merchants and food trucks, visitors can fully indulge in gourmet foods. Drawing more than 10,000 visitors every year, the festival is a quintessential autumn tradition.
