About this event
Held in Saiki City, Oita Prefecture, the 'Naokawa Randoseru Hill Climb Challenge: Battle for the Fastest King' is a unique event where participants wear a randoseru school backpack and take on a steep hill of about 300m leading to the school. The hottest battle will unfold as participants run up the steep slope with a maximum gradient of about 10% on their own feet, rather than using prepared cross bikes (*Candidate 3 states no bicycle is required, and Candidate 3 is adopted as the latest information). Participants will push past their limits and put everything into their final push. The event features a General Division (high school students to adults) and a Junior Division (5th grade elementary school to 3rd grade junior high school students), with weights placed in the randoseru according to the participating division. Following the start of the competition, an award ceremony and a mochi-throwing event are scheduled, with a chance to win Saiki City Naokawa brand rice as a luxurious prize. Participation prizes are also prepared, making it a memorable day.
