SEA IS MOUNTAIN 2026

About this event

The outdoor event "SEA IS MOUNTAIN 2026," held at Sakaematsu Beach in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture, is built around the concept of linking learning with experiences of Nichinan's natural charms. To create a special day full of smiles for children, various activities and workshops are prepared to let visitors experience the sea and mountains. In the workshop area, visitors can enjoy making resin keychains from marine debris, making incense using mountain timber, crafting folk art from cedar wood, making accessories from driftwood, and trying leathercraft. Beach activities include a beach cleanup treasure hunt, surfing & SUP experiences (with instructors), sea kayaking, and a beach treasure hunt (featuring a raffle using treasure numbers!). Stage events include a bigeye tuna cutting show (with free tastings served) and music sets by local DJs, while around 20 food trucks and pop-up shops will also be present. Admission is free, though fees apply for certain workshops and beach activities. Supported by Nichinan City, the Nichinan City Tourism Association, and the Nichinan City Board of Education, this is an event that three generations of families can enjoy.
