About this event
This traditional festival began in 1985 (Showa 60) out of the desire of local youth to make the name of Nojiri Town known to many people and revitalize the town of Nojiri. It is packed with fun events, including various stage shows and the launching of approximately 2,000 fireworks. This year, special projects are also planned to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the new city administration. The opening ceremony features a children's portable shrine carried by kindergarteners and sengumaki (rice cake tossing) by the Nojiri Town Architects Association, while performances by the Nojiri Junior High School Brass Band, Break Girls Dance, Nojiri Eisa Troupe Kochi, and Hibiki-za energize the venue. An awards ceremony for the uchiwa fan design contest will also be held. Decorating the festival's finale, approximately 2,000 fireworks light up the summer night sky. For venue access, using the free shuttle buses running from the Nojiri Government Office, Mikaniyama District Gymnasium, Kamaya District Gymnasium, and Nojiri Town Rural Environment Improvement Center is recommended.
