The largest festival in Kobayashi City, the "Kobayashi Autumn Festival" is a traditional event praying for bountiful harvests and giving thanks for a fruitful year. Its origins date back to the "Honen-sai" (Harvest Festival) in 1956, evolving over time into the current "Kobayashi Autumn Festival." Every year, people of all ages parade through the downtown center of Kobayashi City, surrounding the area in festival excitement. In 2026, it will be held on Sunday, November 29, scheduled to start at 10:30 AM. Various attractions are planned, such as children's portable shrines (kodomo mikoshi), the Kobayashi Bridal Collection, mass dancing, festivals, the Umemon-ichi Food Fair, and the Working Vehicles Exhibition, offering an event where you can directly feel local traditions and vitality. Participating groups for the parade and stage performances, as well as participants for the children's ceremonial procession (chigo gyoretsu), are being recruited to enliven the festival across the entire community. At the Umemon-ichi Food Fair, visitors can enjoy meat from local livestock farmers, fresh fruits and vegetables, and specialties from sister cities. In addition, the "Working Vehicles Exhibition," showcasing buses and Self-Defense Force vehicles that are rarely seen up close, is also popular with children.
