About this event

The 'Urahoro Town Culture Festival,' held every year in late October in Urahoro Town, Hokkaido, is an annual festival to present the results of practice by cultural groups and individuals active in the town. Packed with numerous programs that a wide range of generations can enjoy, it offers an opportunity to encounter unexpected sides of townspeople not normally seen and engaging activities. In fiscal year 2026 (Reiwa 8), work exhibitions will be held at the Urahoro Town Central Community Center from Monday, October 26 to Friday, October 30 as a pre-exhibition week, and the main festival will be held on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1. On Day 1, Saturday, October 31, work exhibitions will be held from 9:00 to 21:00, and 'Ura Fes 2026' will be held from 16:00. On Day 2, Sunday, November 1, work exhibitions will be held from 9:00 to 16:00, with a 'Fun Children's Plaza,' 'Townspeople's Tea Ceremony,' and 'Fragrance Enjoyment Corner' set up in the morning, followed by 'Performing Arts Presentations' in the afternoon. In the performing arts presentations, presentations across a diverse range of genres are planned, including the Urahoro Junior High School Brass Band and Tokeikai, as well as koto music, Japanese classical dance, folk songs, ballet, folk dance, shigin poetry recitation, chorus, local traditional performing arts, and popular songs. Furthermore, ahead of the culture festival, performers, exhibitors, and those interested in event planning and management are being recruited, and exchange of opinions will also take place in the executive committee.
