About this event

Set on the Kihoku Dam special rowing course where the 2023 Kagoshima National Sports Festival Rowing Competition was held, a dragon boat race and rowing trial experience will take place. On the day of the dragon boat race, mock races of the rowing competition and hospitality distributions where local specialty products of the Kihoku area can be won will also be conducted. Top-ranking teams will be presented with local specialties of the Kihoku area. Elementary school students and older can participate in the dragon boat race; when forming a team with junior high school students or younger, the drummer who beats the drum and the steersperson who steers must be adults. The rowing trial experience is open to 5th-grade elementary school students and older. The number of recruiting teams is 48 teams, with 1 team consisting of 10 people (8 rowers, 1 drummer, 1 steersperson, and about 5 substitutes). The entry fee is 3,000 yen per team. Application methods include online application or submitting an application form to the Civic Sports Division. The application deadline is Friday, August 7. The representatives' meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 12 from 18:30 in the large conference room on the 7th floor of Kanoya City Hall, where explanations of precautions and the preliminary round combination lottery will be conducted.
