Held in Hamanaka Town, Hokkaido—the hometown of Monkey Punch, creator of the manga Lupin the Third—the Lupin the Third Festival 2026 in Hamanaka Town is a must-see special two-day event for Lupin fans. Held since 2012, this event welcomes numerous fans from across the country every year. The venue, Hamanaka Town General Cultural Center, is packed with content allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Lupin the Third, including exclusive special exhibitions, talk shows, and sales of new original merchandise. In particular, 2026 features a planned collaboration with the Kabuki production Lupin the Third: Castle of Brilliant Jade and Emerald, hosting a special talk show with distinguished guests including Kanichi Kurita (the voice of Lupin the Third), Ainosuke Kataoka, and Kazuhisa Tobe. Furthermore, a wide array of attractions is prepared, such as kabuki stage art and Lupin the Third exhibits, Pachinko and Pachislot Lupin the Third series visual box displays, photo opportunities with a Fiat 500 and life-sized figures, and original Lupin the Third illustration displays from Hamanaka Town. Cosplayers receive festival-exclusive stickers, while the original goods shop and outdoor gourmet zone offer local Hamanaka cuisine and food trucks.
