Yusui Town Highland Festa: National Chainsaw Art Competition 2026

Yusui Town in Kagoshima Prefecture is promoting town planning that envisions the entire town as an art museum, aiming to be a "town of art woven by people and nature." As part of this initiative, the National Chainsaw Art Competition will be held. This tournament responds to the growing momentum for chainsaw art, such as the establishment of a club by town volunteers and the holding of training workshops. In the previous tournament, overseas competitors were invited, and the collaboration between world top-level skills and Japan's top-class craftsmanship fascinated many visitors. In the 2026 tournament, in addition to the traditional Top Class and Open Class divisions, a Beginner Class will be established for the first time. Furthermore, workshops are also planned to continue. While striving to secure the chainsaw art population, the event aims for regional revitalization by promoting Yusui Town both inside and outside the prefecture, increasing the visiting population, and sharing information. It will be an event that further enhances the town's appeal as a town of art.
