Held in Teshikaga Town, Hokkaido, the "Lake Mashu Banba Competition" is a thrilling draft horse (banba) race tournament featuring various races ranging from pony races to heavy load pulling. You can watch the intense races of horses up close, and a "Pony Petting Square" will also be set up at the venue. Visitors can also enjoy a fun lottery with luxurious prizes, rice cake throwing (mochimaki), and race prediction voting. Furthermore, there is plenty of content, including a guest race where you can actually ride a sled to experience the race, and a covered wagon ride experience. It is an event where you can rediscover the charm and power of horses, and it is cherished as a traditional autumn event in Teshikaga Town. Held with the purpose of passing down the banba culture that has developed alongside the history of frontier development and revitalizing the local region, many horses gather from all over Hokkaido.
