The "43rd Dondon Festival," the largest festival in Tokunoshima Town, will be held. The main festival and fireworks display will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Kametsu New Fishing Port. This festival is operated with town subsidies and generous contributions from townspeople and supporters nationwide, and applications for message fireworks are also being accepted. This special program reads out messages for loved ones—such as wedding congratulations, 60th birthday celebrations, or marriage proposals—and launches fireworks into the night sky. The launch of the message fireworks is scheduled for Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 PM (tentative), with applications accepted until Wednesday, September 30. Additionally, a parade will be held starting at 4:00 PM on the same day, mainly along Kametsu Wide Avenue. Various groups such as workplaces, local communities, and friends can participate in diverse forms, including dances, portable shrines (mikoshi), and performances. Festival operating funds are supported by donations, and your cooperation is warmly welcomed.
