About this event

On November 3, Culture Day, an event will be held to tour the highway and surrounding historic sites developed by King Shonei, the 7th king of the Second Sho Dynasty, from Urasoe Gusuku to Shuri Castle. An Urasoe history guide will accompany the tour, guiding participants from the Urasoe Gusuku Youdore Hall to the vicinity of Enkanchi Pond at Shuri Castle over approximately 4 hours. It is a valuable opportunity to experience the history associated with King Shonei, which also gained attention through a TV drama adaptation. Participation is open to elementary school students and older (elementary school students must be accompanied by an adult), and the participation fee is 500 yen per person. The capacity is 150 people and requires prior reservation. The application period is from Tuesday, September 29 to Thursday, October 29. Please participate in comfortable clothing for walking and prepare drinks and other necessities. The Shurijo Castle Festival will also be held on the same day.
