3rd Miyakojima Kumiodori Gathering: Temizu no En (Love by Water)

About this event

The masterpiece of Kumiodori theater, 'Temizu no En' (Love by Water), depicting a romance across social classes, will be performed in Miyakojima. Yamato, son of Haneji Ufunushi, and the beautiful Tamatsu meet and fall in love after an encounter over hand-washing water, but their forbidden romance across social ranks is discovered, leading Tamatsu toward the execution ground. It is one of Kumiodori's most passionate romantic dramas, where strong love for one's partner violently intersects with inescapable destiny. In addition to the performance of 'Temizu no En', this staging will feature introductory opening dances highlighted by dances performed by men and women, alongside the beautiful tones of an all-female Jiutai musical accompaniment. The scheduled opening dance pieces are 'Nakazato-bushi / Tancha-me / Hyakunen no En' and 'Kana-yo / Amakawa', showcasing splendid and graceful sounds.
