The "Tonaki Festival", held annually in Tonaki Village, is known as an event full of enthusiasm unique to a fishing village. While the "Tonaki Festival" originally scheduled for August 6 and the "Kashiki" on August 7 were canceled due to the impact of Typhoon No. 13, some events will be held on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23. On Saturday, August 22, glutinous millet sales will begin at 13:00, and a tug-of-war competition will be held starting at 19:00. On the following day, Sunday the 23rd, a bingo tournament will start at 17:00, followed by entertainment performances from 18:10, and fireworks are scheduled to be launched from 20:30. This festival is a valuable opportunity to directly experience the island's vitality and traditional culture, and the fireworks coloring the summer night sky will become a special memory. It is an event where you can fully enjoy the charm of the island.
