About this event
The Iriomote Island SUP Festival is a stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) event celebrating its 12th edition. Four races are prepared for beginners to advanced paddlers, as well as children. Even in November, the water temperature is around 23 to 24 degrees Celsius and the air temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius, allowing you to enjoy a fun race amidst the beautiful nature of Iriomote Island. Instead of measuring times or competing for rankings, the event features a relaxed paddling course. On the days before and after the race, tours led by members of the Yaeyama SUP Association Iriomote Branch, who know Iriomote Island inside out, will also be held. The race lineup includes four categories: the Beginner Race (approx. 1 km, for beginners), the Kids Race (approx. 800 m, up to 12 years old), the Challenge Race (approx. 3 km, for those with experience paddling 3 km continuously), and the Jungle River Race (approx. 9 km, self-rescue capable, intermediate and above). The entry fee includes insurance, as well as transportation and boat fees for certain races. Commemorative T-shirts and rental equipment (board, paddle, life jacket) are also available separately. An after-party will be held after the race, allowing you to enjoy the event throughout the entire day.
