Ohasama Kagura Day [October: Yagimaki Kagura]

This is a regular performance where visitors can watch kagura, including 'Hayachine Kagura' handed down in Ohasama, Hanamaki City, up close. Held on the second Sunday of every month, 'Kagura Day' rotates monthly among three groups: Take Kagura, Otsugunai Kagura, and Yagimaki Kagura. This edition features a performance of 'Yagimaki Kagura'. It is a precious opportunity to appreciate kagura, which is said to have a tradition of over 500 years and is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The venue is the Hanamaki City Ohasama Exchange Activation Center (Hayachine Hall). Same-day tickets are 1,000 yen (free for elementary school students and younger).
