Hirose River Lantern Night (Andon Night) 2026

About this event

This is an event to enjoy a special night where magical andon lanterns and dream lights (yume akari) illuminate the path along the Hirose River Seseragi Green Path. At the venue, a variety of performers will take the stage, including the "Nishimonai Bon Dance" (a northern Bon dance from Ugo Town, Akita Prefecture), Oniyanagi Oni Kenbai sword dance, Kitakami Osuwa Taiko drums, the Fujio Sendan & Shoko Takataka Show, and the Showa pop band Shinmachi-zu. Visitors can also enjoy street foods from food trucks and dining stalls. In case of rain, performances of Nishimonai Bon Dance and Oniyanagi Oni Kenbai are scheduled at the hokko child-rearing and insurance welfare facility. It is a one-night-only festival where the Hirose River Seseragi Green Path is adorned with light, sound, and delicious gourmet food.
