About this event
The "Takata Matsubara Fireworks," held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Takata Matsubara Sports Park in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, is a new fireworks festival planned and operated by local volunteers. In addition to fireworks illuminating the night sky, a food area offering local gourmet specialties and daytime events are planned, providing a special night and the utmost inspiration to all visitors. Approximately 15,000 fireworks are scheduled to be launched. All seats require paid admission, with seat types catering to diverse needs, including unreserved seats, reserved seats, "Drive View" allowing entry in your vehicle, and "Campsites" where you can stay overnight starting the day before. The food area brings together carefully selected high-quality gourmet foods from local Rikuzentakata and the Sanriku region. Event hours are from 12:00 to 21:00, with fireworks scheduled from 19:00 to 20:00. The event will proceed in the rain, but will be cancelled in case of stormy weather.
