17th Kamaishi Sennin Toge Marathon

Held in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, the "17th Kamaishi Sennin Toge Marathon" is a marathon event set against the backdrop of the beautifully colored autumn leaves of Sennin Pass. Participants can challenge a difficult course that is rare in Japan, featuring an elevation gain of approximately 400 meters and an average gradient of 5%. From the pass course, runners can enjoy the stunning panoramic view of autumn foliage overlooking Sennin Pass, along with the unique hospitality of Kamaishi. The event features two course types: the Pass Course (approx. 17.2 km) and the 10 km Course, each offering divisions by age category. Participants are advised to perform a thorough health check in advance and approach the race in peak physical condition. On race day, comprehensive services are provided for participants, including participation gifts, local specialties at aid stations, and the distribution of shopping vouchers usable at food trucks and other stalls at the venue.
