About this event
Held in Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture, the "Ninohe Festival" features various events to enliven the celebration over three days from September 4 to 6. In the Mutsu Local Customs Reproduction Parade, townspeople's lifestyles and festival processions from the time are recreated based on picture scrolls painted in the early Meiji period, and participants can parade in samurai attire. The float procession is one of the festival's main events, following the mikoshi (portable shrine) procession. In addition, the mikoshi procession visits Nonko Inari Shrine, Atago Shrine, and Akiba Shrine. Volunteer staff are also being recruited to support festival operations, allowing participation in activities such as setup and traffic management. Participants can be enrolled in insurance.
