Surfing Experience 2026

About this event

On Sunday, August 23 and Sunday, August 30, 2026, the 'Surfing Experience 2026' will be held at Taneichi Seaside Park Beach in Hirono Town, Iwate Prefecture. This trial session is open to anyone junior high school age or older who can swim and has either no surfing experience or only 1 to 2 prior experiences. The Hirono Town Surfing Association will provide safe and fun support for surfing. Families, friends, and solo participants are all warmly welcome, making this an ideal opportunity to create wonderful summer memories. The morning course runs from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and the afternoon course runs from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The participation fee is 3,000 yen (including insurance), and surfboards and wetsuits are available for free rental; however, as sizes may not always fit perfectly, please bring your own if possible. Each course has a capacity of 8 participants, with a minimum required group size of 3 participants. Advance registration is required, with application deadlines on Monday, August 17 for the August 23 session and Monday, August 24 for the August 30 session. Registration closes once capacity is reached, so early application is advised. Event details may change or be canceled due to weather or other circumstances.
