The annual summer event "Kitakami River Fair 2026," continuing since 1995, will be held in Ishinomaki City again this year. It is packed with projects allowing you to experience the charms of the bountiful Kitakami River flowing from Iwate. At the Kawamachi venue, food and beverage stalls featuring local deliciousness such as "Kitakami River Nabe" will open, offering a program combining learning and play including riverside fishing experiences, a "Learn About Water" corner, the River Basin Squadron Flood Control Ranger booth, and displays of disaster response vehicles. At the Kitakami River and Canal Exchange Center venue, relaxing projects are prepared, such as the popular "Canoe Experience" gliding across the water feeling the breeze, and an "Utagoe Cafe" where visitors discuss their favorite books. In addition, as a means of transportation connecting the two venues, three-wheeled "Tuk-Tuk" taxis familiar in Southeast Asia will operate specially, allowing you to enjoy a refreshing ride filled with Asian atmosphere even while traveling. We deliver an exciting day by the waterside in Ishinomaki that can be enjoyed all day from children to adults.
