About this event
"The 4th Ishinomaki Ninth" will be held in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. As a one-of-a-kind Beethoven's Ninth performance, this 4th edition features a chorus of the Ninth performed by Ishinomaki citizens. Yuki Kakiuchi, winner of the Besancon International Competition for Young Conductors, will serve as conductor. The Ishinomaki Ninth Chorus was formed through public recruitment from citizens mainly in Ishinomaki City and its surrounding areas, and operates as part of the recovery support efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake. In collaboration with the Ishinomaki Ninth Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 will be performed. Tickets are 2,000 yen in advance and 2,500 yen at the door; admission is free for elementary, junior high, and preschool children, though tickets are required. High school students and younger can enter by presenting a student ID.
