24th Kakuda Zunda Festival

Held in Kakuda City, Miyagi Prefecture, the '24th Kakuda Zunda Festival' is an event where you can savor 'Hiden-mame', a specialty of Kakuda, the town of soybeans. Kakuda-grown 'Hiden-mame' possesses all three elements of taste, color, and aroma, and features the ability to be prepared into 'zunda' as is without removing the thin skin. Centered on the sale of 'Hiden-mame', picking experiences are also scheduled at the venue. In addition, processed zunda products and fresh vegetables are available at 'Roadside Station Kakuda (Michi-no-Eki Kakuda)'. Hiden-mame can also be purchased during the one week before and after the festival. Although a sufficient sales quantity is planned for the day, there is a possibility it may sell out in the afternoon, so early arrival is recommended. Event details may be subject to change depending on the growing condition of the beans.
