About this event
The 'Kakuda Zunda Festival' in Kakuda City, Miyagi Prefecture, marks its 24th edition this year, celebrating Kakuda as a renowned soybean-producing region. Kakuda's 'Hiden Beans' (Hiden-mame) boast exceptional flavor, vibrant green color, and rich aroma, with the distinctive feature that they can be prepared into 'zunda' (sweet green soybean paste) directly without removing their thin outer skins. While the event primarily focuses on sales of Hiden Beans, bean-picking experiences are also scheduled on-site. In addition, Roadside Station Kakuda offers processed zunda products and fresh vegetables. Hiden Beans are also available for purchase one week before and after the festival. The event runs from 9:00 to 15:00, rain or shine. The venue is Roadside Station Kakuda, which is fully equipped with parking. Ample sales stock is planned, but please note that items may sell out in the afternoon. Event details are subject to change depending on crop growth conditions.
