Held in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture, the Uwanuma Hachiman Shrine Autumn Festival is a grand autumn festival featuring dedicatory performances of Kamo-style Hoin Kagura, handed down since ancient times. This kagura dance is considered one of the most important annual events at the shrine, embodying the prayers and traditions of the local community. The festival takes place on the second Sunday of September, with kagura dedication performances beginning in the early afternoon. A dedication entertainment show is also held the previous day as the eve festival (yoimatsuri), which is open to all visitors. The festival provides a valuable opportunity to experience local history and culture, attracting many visitors.
