Osaki Balloon Festival Tethered Hot Air Balloon Experience

About this event

A fleet of colorful hot air balloons adorning the autumn sky flies over Osaki Kodo, certified as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS). Along with hot air balloons gathering from across Japan, visitors can enjoy a tethered balloon ride experience where they can actually board a balloon. Elaborate events of various kinds are also prepared for this event, allowing spectators to see powerful hot air balloon flights up close. The tethered hot air balloon ride experience starts after the hot air balloon flight concludes and is available for 500 yen for elementary school students and older. Preschool children can ride for free but must be accompanied by a guardian. Numbered tickets are required for participation and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 6:00 each day. People who are unwell or pregnant cannot ride. The event content may be modified or canceled depending on weather conditions on the day.
