About this event

"Chestnut Picking x Chestnut Tasting Gathering 2026", held in Marumori Town, Miyagi Prefecture, is a hands-on event where you can fully enjoy the flavors of autumn. At the chestnut orchard of Saki Farm, you can enjoy picking chestnuts from about 150 chestnut trees. Staff members are available to assist so that first-time participants can join with confidence. Picked chestnuts can be purchased for 300 yen per 1 kg. The event includes lunch featuring imoni (taro stew), which is also popular on the Abukuma Line Boat Ride provided by the Marumori Town Tourism and Local Products Promotion Corporation, and chestnut rice generously packed with chestnuts from Saki Farm. Furthermore, you can enjoy sweets by Shoku no Atelier kei, such as candied chestnuts with astringent skin (shibukawani), chestnut cream roll cake, and chestnut pound cake. Specialty drinks from OO to Coffee (OO and Coffee) as well as boiled chestnuts and sweet persimmons from Saki Farm are also provided, allowing you to experience the rich food and warmth of the people of Marumori Town. Through this event, you can savor the seasonal charms of Marumori Town and experience its gastronomic richness. After the event concluded, many happy comments such as "I will definitely come again next year!" were received from participants. Organized by the Marumori Green Tourism Promotion Council, this project lets you fully savor the autumn flavors of Marumori Town.
