Harakomeshi Hometown: 2026 Watari Marathon

About this event

Set at Torinomi Park in Watari Town, Miyagi Prefecture, the "~Harakomeshi Hometown~ 2026 Watari Marathon" is a race set in a scenic location with the aims of promoting local sports, improving participants' health, and revitalizing the town. A wide variety of divisions are prepared for various age groups, from parent-child pairs and elementary school students to junior high school students and above, high school students and above, and seniors. Participants will receive a commemorative sports towel and a boxed Harakomeshi meal as participation prizes, and can savor "harakomeshi", a traditional local specialty dish of Watari Town, after reaching the goal. On the day of the event, local specialty sales booths will also be set up, making it an event where visitors can fully enjoy the appeal of Watari Town. Reception starts from 8:45 AM, and starts for each category will take place sequentially from 10:00 AM. Anyone who agrees with the purpose of the tournament and is confident in their health may participate. Due to course width restrictions, participation in wheelchairs or by those requiring accompanied runners is not permitted.
