Set in Kami Town, Miyagi Prefecture, 'HYSK GRAVEL CLASSIC YAKURAI 2026 presented by GRAVELKING' will be held as the first UCI Gravel World Series race ever in Japan. Recognized as part of the official race series by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) held globally, this authentic gravel race rushes through dynamic courses traversing Tohoku's rich nature, particularly forest roads and rural landscapes. Its greatest appeal lies in experiencing both high-level competition and nature, making it widely recommended for both riders aiming for top categories and those seeking an authentic gravel experience. The entire event runs from August 21 (Friday) to August 23 (Sunday), 2026, with the main race and rides taking place on August 22 (Saturday) and August 23 (Sunday). The venue is Togei no Sato Sports Park, surrounded by Mount Yakurai (known as 'Kami Fuji') in an area recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (Osaki Kodo's traditional water management system). While riding diverse courses, participants can thoroughly enjoy the nature full of Japanese charm. The Elite class is scheduled for a 107 km gravel race (71% gravel ratio), and the Age class for a 53 km gravel race (70% gravel ratio), followed by a gravel group ride the day after the race. It is a valuable opportunity to experience a world-standard gravel race where riders from Japan and abroad gather.
