About this event
"Wakuya Chicken Festival 2026" will be held in Wakuya Town, Miyagi Prefecture. This is the second edition of the event since January 2025, selling specialty goods, new products, and new menus utilizing ingredients from Wakuya Town, especially chicken. Various stage events will be held at the venue, and admission is free. Vendors will serve a variety of chicken dishes, including chicken mapo oboro tofu, rich chicken broth soy sauce ramen, chicken cutlet curry, Shinrin-dori spice curry, fried chicken wings, and yakitori. There will also be sales of Junmai Daiginjo "Hanashigure" and festival game booths for children. Stage events will feature Wakuya Taiko, Matsuri WAKUYOSA Maisakura, a PR character naming ceremony, an introduction to Wellfam Foods Co., Ltd. Miyagi Office, vendor PR time, a guest live performance from Kunohe Village in Iwate Prefecture, and a fun prize raffle. The MC will be freelance announcer Mari Nakui, and voice actress/singer Kiyono Yasuno, the Wakuya Town Golden Ambassador, will appear as a guest. The event is hosted by Toda Chamber of Commerce and Industry, co-hosted by Wellfam Foods Co., Ltd. Miyagi Office, and supported by Wakuya Town.
