The 12th Akita Oga Peninsula Namahage Ride

About this event

The '12th Akita Oga Peninsula Namahage Ride' held in Oga City, Akita Prefecture, is a cycling event touring the magnificent scenic beauty of the Oga Peninsula. While enjoying the charms of the Oga Peninsula, such as seafood, mountain delicacies, and hot springs, participants can choose from 3 courses: Long Course (100km), Middle Course (60km), and Trial Course (25km). Taro Shirato as event MC and Ukyo Katayama as guest rider will join to liven up the event. On the previous day, participants can further enjoy the event through the Mt. Kanpu Practice Ride riding with JCL's Ukyo Katayama and the Eve Festival where Ukyo Katayama will also participate. Healthy men and women can participate, and wearing a helmet is mandatory. Elementary school students and younger require an accompanying guardian, and high school students and younger require guardian consent. On the day of the event, the Oga Station surrounding plaza (opposite Roadside Station Oga Ogare) will serve as the start and finish point.
