From September 19 to September 23, 2026, the 'Oyu Stone Circles Jomon Festival & WEEK' will be held at the Oyu Stone Circle Museum and Oyu Nonakado/Manza Stone Circles in Kazuno City, Akita Prefecture. Commemorating the 5th anniversary of the World Heritage inscription and the 70th anniversary of its Special Historic Site designation, special commemorative exhibitions and Jomon hands-on experiences can be enjoyed throughout the period. In particular, on the final day, September 23, a special lecture by Mr. Ryuzaburo Takahashi will be held, along with diverse events such as viewing the ruins from an aerial work platform, an ancient pottery-firing contest, stage performances, and bear meat stew tastings, offering a precious opportunity to experience Jomon culture.
