10th Furano Trail Run 2026

About this event

This trail running event challenges Mount Furano-Nishidake, known as one of Hokkaido's most demanding courses. The magnificent view of Mount Tokachi from the ridge trail is one of the event's major highlights. Aid stations are well equipped, providing an environment where participants can focus on their race with peace of mind. The course is set with the premise of coexisting with wildlife in Hokkaido's great nature. As brown bear countermeasures, the event management carries out patrols on the previous day (bear deterrence), sets off firecrackers at key route locations, and deploys lead runners on race day. Participants are also requested to cooperate by carrying bear bells, using whistles/small bells in combination, carrying bear spray (recommended), avoiding strong scents, keeping moving without stopping, and in the unlikely event of an encounter, calmly retreating while making noise to signal human presence. It is an event where you can test your limits while fully enjoying Furano's magnificent and beautiful nature.
