About this event
Held in Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, the Yotsuya Festival is a warm celebration highlighting local traditional culture and ingenuity. On the day of the event, large 4.5-meter-tall firework lanterns and mini firework lanterns, painted with fireworks and warrior pictures, parade along to the sound of festival music. At the Yotsuya Public Hall, performing arts presentations and exhibition of works will be held, along with outdoor food and vendor stalls. At night, the firework lanterns are illuminated, and the finale features the launch of around 500 large and small fireworks including starmines and rapid-fire wide starmines. The fireworks launching amidst floating sky lanterns—a rare sight nationwide—create a breathtaking scene that enchants spectators. Visitors can enjoy artisan-crafted fireworks up close in a warm, community-rooted atmosphere.
