The 39th National Giant Rabbit Festival

About this event

This event is held to preserve Akita Prefecture's unique large white rabbit (Japanese White Akita Improved Breed) for future generations, improve its quality, and promote it nationwide. In recent years, it has grown to a scale attracting approximately 10,000 visitors. The first day mainly features judging contests evaluating rabbits on criteria such as size and fur quality. On the second day, alongside judging contests, various events such as a rabbit weight-guessing contest will be held. This festival serves as a valuable opportunity aiming for the preservation and development of a traditional breed, drawing lively crowds of visitors.
