About this event
Held at the foot of the Shirakami Sanchi mountains in Fujisato Town, Akita Prefecture, the "Mori no Ichi" (Forest Market) is an event where visitors can enjoy a market and workshops in a nature-surrounded setting. On Sunday, September 20, 2026, it will be held from 10:00 to 14:00 at Shirakami Sanchi Mori no Eki. The venue will offer food and drinks such as bagels, roll cakes, and baked goods, as well as special thick sushi rolls, sushi-shop dashi rolled omelets, and special croquettes. Visitors can also enjoy a flea market centered on outdoor goods, handmade items such as mizuhiki and kogin-zashi embroidery, and fabric accessories made from remade denim and kimono. Workshops include a "Can Badge Shop" where you can create original can badges or magnets of your children or pets, alongside a hammock area. Past editions have featured kebabs, seafood udon, mini-concerts, experiences with world ethnic music, mizuhiki accessory making, hand care & palmistry, original keyholder crafting, self-lymphatic care workshops, and waterfall walking tours. It offers visitors enjoyable moments, delicious food, and new encounters.
