Shirakami Sanchi SEA TO SUMMIT 2026

About this event

Shirakami Sanchi SEA TO SUMMIT 2026 is an event set in Happo Town, Akita Prefecture and Fukaura Town, Aomori Prefecture, where participants travel from the sea through villages to the summit using human power (kayaking, cycling, and mountain climbing) to deepen their understanding of the connection between sea, village, and mountain, as well as the conservation of the natural environment. This marks the first time it is held in Shirakami Sanchi, gathering approximately 180 participants from across Japan. The event spans two days, with an environmental symposium on the first day at Aone Shirakami Juniko (Fukaura Town, Aomori Prefecture), and activities including kayaking, cycling, and mountain climbing starting from Nakahama Coast (Happo Town, Akita Prefecture) on the second day. In addition, the Shirakami Sanchi Festival will be held concurrently at the main venue, Aone Shirakami Juniko, offering unique food, culture, and nature experiences of Shirakami Sanchi for non-participants as well.
