The 'Shinmai Matsuri in Ogata 2026' (Freshly Harvested Rice Festival) will be held in Ogata Village, Akita Prefecture. Celebrating the season of delicious new-crop rice, the event will feature a powerful Kanto performance by the Akita Prefectural University Kanto Club in front of the Land Reclamation Museum, along with free distribution of onigiri rice balls from the famous Tokyo shop 'Bongo'. In addition, there will be a rice scooping challenge that children can enjoy, as well as stalls by various food trucks. Furthermore, a drive-through direct sale of freshly harvested rice will be held at the north parking lot of Hotel Sunrural Ogata, selling 30kg bags of brown rice. Sponsoring events will also take place across various locations in the village, making it a great lineup to fully enjoy the first day of the three-day holiday in Ogata Village.
