About this event
The annual 44th Yonezawa Beef Festival will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Matsukawa Riverside. This major gourmet event allows approximately 900 people to taste top-grade Yonezawa beef. Inside tents lined up along the riverbed from evening into the night, participants gather around hot pots to savor meltingly delicious Yonezawa beef with fine marbling. Held since 1980, this festival aims to have everyone enjoy Yonezawa beef—a representative taste of Yonezawa—together, expanding beef consumption and elevating the Yonezawa Beef brand. Sukiyaki sets are offered at 14,000 yen (tax included) for 4 servings and 7,000 yen (tax included) for 2 servings. In addition to top-grade Yonezawa beef produced by livestock farmers in Yonezawa City, the set includes Chinese cabbage, green onions, shirataki konjac noodles, tofu, garland chrysanthemum, enoki mushrooms, maitake mushrooms, eggs, sukiyaki sauce, chopsticks, and bowls. Contents may partially change depending on the growth condition of vegetables. Participation tickets are advance-sale only and can be purchased online or at the Agricultural Promotion Division counter at the city hall from Monday, August 10, 2026 at 9:00 AM to Tuesday, August 25 at 5:00 PM.
