Tengendai Kogen Autumn First Festival 2026

About this event

The annual Tengendai Kogen Autumn First Festival will be held from Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, September 13, 2026. The event takes place from 10:00 to 15:00, with the ropeway operating from 8:00 to 17:00 and summer chairlifts running from 8:10 to 15:40. In conjunction with this event, Yonezawa Citizen Appreciation Day will also be held on Saturday, September 12. On Yonezawa Citizen Appreciation Day, round trips on the ropeway are free, and round trips on summer chairlifts can be used at special rates of 1,500 yen for adults and 1,200 yen for elementary school students (round-trip ride at one-way fare). At the event, visitors using the Kids Wakuwaku Pass included with ropeway tickets can join fun activities such as Striders, EzyRoller new-sensation go-karts, plateau parent-child treasure hunting, flying bamboo dragonflies, and folk craft painting experiences for Otaka Poppo / Shirozaru Kokeshi dolls. In addition, popular eMTB rentals are available for 1,200 yen for 30 minutes to ride electric-assist bicycles across the plateau. Furthermore, the eMTB tour Summer Mountain Big Adventure is offered for a 5,000 yen participation fee (reservation required). Exclusively on Saturday, September 12, a Parent-Child Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament with luxurious prizes for winners will be held, with registration from 11:30 at Kogen Station and starting at 12:10. On Sunday, September 13, a campaign titled Lucky with the Lift Ticket! Ride the Lift and Get Prizes! will award luxurious prizes to those riding the winning lifts, held from 13:00 to 15:00 at the Shirakaba Lift Center.
