About this event

Organized by Tsuruoka City, the "Kurokawa Noh Outdoor Performance 41st 'Mizu-Honoo no Noh'" will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Tsuruoka City Kushibiki General Athletic Park Outdoor Stage. Doors open at 17:00 and the performance starts at 18:00. In case of rain, it will be held at Kushibiki Sports Center. The program includes the Noh plays "Kurozuka" and "Kasuga Ryujin," and the Kyogen play "Sanbonbashira." In addition, as the Kami-za performance, the dance chant "Takasago" performed by students of Kushibiki Higashi Elementary School will also be presented. The capacity is 300 people, and admission is 2,000 yen for advance tickets and 2,500 yen for same-day tickets. Admission is free for high school students and younger. Applications for advance tickets are accepted until August 31. The outdoor Noh performance staged in a fantastical atmosphere surrounded by bonfires—featuring Kurokawa Noh, an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan handed down by farmers for over 500 years—is the unique attraction of "Mizu-Honoo no Noh."
