Oisawa, the venue, is a scenic location surrounded by mountains and rivers, and notably, a 5-minute walk from the parking lot stands 'Japan's Greatest Giant Chestnut Tree,' a massive chestnut tree said to be 800 years old. This ancient tree is designated as a Natural Monument of Yamagata Prefecture and still bears fruit today. When the autumn leaves reach their peak, this giant chestnut tree and the surrounding trees layer countless yellow leaves, creating a beautiful painting-like scenery. Admission is free, allowing you to fully enjoy the colorful world woven by nature. Nearby is the 'Museum of Nature and Craftsmanship' (Shizen to Takumi no Denshokan), and the riverbank in front of it is also a recommended viewing point. The types of trees that change color are diverse, including chestnut, painted maple (itaya kaede), and Japanese beech (buna).
