The '43rd Funagata Young Ayu Festival', a major event in Funagata Town, is held annually in mid-September at the river park 'Ayu Park Funagata'. Starting with the specialty ayu sweetfish raised in the pristine Oguni River, visitors can enjoy stalls featuring town specialties and friendly cities. On the day, various events will be held, such as presentations by the town art and cultural association and local children, as well as a lavish song show. In addition, the popular 'Kids Ayu Catching Experience' will be held, where participants can experience catching ayu released inside the facility by hand within the time limit. Grilled ayu and imoni (taro and meat soup) are also sold at the venue, allowing visitors to savor the flavors of Funagata Town. Since the parking lot is expected to be crowded before the start of the song show and during popular events, using the free shuttle bus is recommended.
